escape and pancakes
We had a pretty busy day today. Lots of things to do in the morning whilst Daddy was still asleep. Amelie ate a massive lunch consisting of a 2 egg omlette full of cheese and a cereal bar. After lunch it was off out to meet Great Uncle Stephen and Great Auntie Jane to hand over some presents that they are going to take to Wales to give to Auntie Emma and the twins. Its just so hard to be a new auntie and not want to buy everything.... Anyway after our lunch with them (which was a pretty late lunch) and a quick trip to get Amelie some new nightwear (and a sneaky dress) we headed to Tesco to pick up some party supplies for Amelie's 1st Birthday gathering on Saturday. Amelie was quite disgruntled by this point even though she had been good as gold for the rest of our trip out. When we got home we were struggling with bags so I put her down just outside the flat door to crawl in. Silly Mummy, why would she want to crawl in when she could crawl out?! So we had a bit of an explore of the stairs. We went all the way upstairs to the flat above and back down again. And we went down towards the flat below but didn't get that far as Amelie didn't want to attempt to go down the steps. Dinner time then. We have been dreading dinner time a bit as Amelie was refusing to eat last week and we weren't sure if it was becuase of her cold or because she had suddenly decided dinner wasn't for her anymore. Tonight she fed herself with the spoon (loading it up all by herself and everything!) and managed half of the fish pie that was there. She then helped me mix the pancake batter and attempted to drip it onto the floor before trying one with jam. It wasn't a great success but without any chewing teeth she hates having soggy things like that in her mouth and it was no surprise when she spat it out. She did go back for more though so I can only presume that taste was not an issue.
