Advancing Technology

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has the slogan 'Advancing Technology for Humanity'. Not all advances are of course for the good of humanity. This marker indicates where a 'signal fence' used to lie between East and West Berlin, which if someone trying to escape touched would notify the guards.
