Flamingos at Bages
It has been such a stunning day I took myself to the coast. First stop was Peyriac de Mer where I did a sketch of a jetty pushing out into the etang, water barely shimmering.
Then round the corner to Bages for a picnic and snapping these fellows. They sort of knead the sand beneath them as they go to disturb the life below, I guess. Not that bright until they flap their wings and then you are treated to vivid dark pink and black feathers
Also saw a Lesser Spotted Cuckoo. Frightful call, and fairly rare. Whoopee.
