Merganser

Shot this wee guy a few times but never so close, came up for a look as i fed the ducks and gulls on the river.
Merganser is a diving duck belong to the sawbill family, so called because of their long, serrated bills, used for catching fish, eating fish such as salmon and trout and at home in salt water as fresh.

You can probably tell that came from RSPB website but i'd have just put it down as a 'duck' if not for a fellow blippers knowledge thanks Mikewithmg
