The Lowe House - Heritage Hill District #4
Built in 1895, the home is variously described as Victorian and "Chateauesque." Edward Lowe was a Grand Rapids lumber merchant who frequently visited England and was supposedly influenced by English architecture in the building of his home (I'll let all of you confirm or deny that :).
There are 104 leaded beveled glass windows, a double hanging switchback staircase, 6 fireplaces, 9 bathrooms, and 1 wine vault. The structure is currently used as commercial office space (15 offices and 1 apartment) but zoning allows for its use once again as a single family home, all 5,700 square feet of it.
And here's the best news for all of you house-hunters: it's currently on the market and can be yours for $425,000.00.
I'm still catching up with all of you from my recent computer debacle, so thank you for your visits in spite of that.
