Really Dancing

When did you last REALLY dance?

I caught Li'l really going for it tonight and it got me to thinking...

"Dance as if none is watching". An horrendous AmericoPositive. yet we all get the point.

However- dancing can sometimes be about everything except dancing.

Being attractive to others. Keeping fit. Competing. Being Vulnerable. Fitting in.

Yet I have memories of great dances:

In a mad whirl at the house of two of my best friends all of us dressed up to the nines for Halloween.

Looking at my newly found wife with "Weather with You" ringing in my ears.

Showing my "moves" to my kids to Body Moving and throwing them around to match.

It can seem almost impossible to dance as if no one is watching. But I rather think, if you can shut down the receptors and switch off any negative thoughts, it might be rather good for your soul!
