Crippled

I stopped at the wharf on the waterfront in Nelson. There were many seagulls about, mostly clustering together but this sad chap was off on his own, clearly disabled and thus pushed from the group. My sympathy goes out to him, and on a much larger scale to Japan and the residents there who have been so horrifically affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

At the moment New Zealand and Japan have been crippled by the latest series of earthquakes but as humans we have been more fortunate than this seagull. Rather than ostracising us the world has come to our aid. It really does say great things about human nature.
