What devastating news there was today about the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. Against the immense forces at work within the earth - mankind pales into insignificance.

Tonight we went to a wonderful performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's Mikado in Kendal. To their credit, someone from the cast spoke about their discomfort in performing what was a light-hearted show set in Japan on the day that that country was suffering so greatly......
