Snow Park
I finally made it back to the snow park today. I know its a little unblippish to make a collage but people have been so interested in the snow and ice sculptures that I wanted to show more than one.
These are made entirely of snow. A 'box' (sometimes enormous) is made and filled with snow which is then compacted. The excess is then scraped away by a sculptor (or 100).
Top right: is a traditional Chinese temple (full size). Between the stairs has been made as slides.
Top middle: This is the Chinese character FU which means luck. A lot of Chinese people have it on their door for each new year. Actually I have it on mine. It is usually hung upside down for better luck. I am not sure if you can tell the scale from the pic but it is about the size of half a football field.
Top right: is a differet angle of the huge wall I blipped here.
The others are all smaller sculptures. About 3-4 metres tall. There were prolly about 100 this size in the park as well as a few other larger ones.
All in all a wonderful day and AWESOME sights.
