Spring
After a dull and rainy start to the day we've had a brilliant spring afternoon. A family lunch at Cannon Hall, plus short walk around the gardens followed by a visit to the allottment and some work in the garden at home. I've even planted some broad beans today!
These Stinking Hellebore's Corsican hellebore Helleborus argutifolius (thank you Mollyblobs) were growing outside the walled garden and I felt they looked stunning against the bright blue of the sky. For the last twelve years we've had them growing in our own garden but this year they seem to have disappeared. There are signs of new seedlings so we should have the plants back next year.
I'm hoping that spring really is here now so I really must decide what we are going to grow in the allottment this year.
