G'day!
I haven't updated this for a while, but I haven't really taken any interesting pictures lately; only pictures of Clifford!
He's got a fungus...again. I'm sort of at a loss as to what's causing them. Apparently this fungus is sort of like a cold - it's present in the water all the time, but if the immune system is comprised a little, it can attack!
The thing is, I cannot for the life of me work out what's stressing him, or whether he's just the axolotl equivalent of someone that's just always got a sniffle! The water parametres are perfect, he's eating, pooping and is as nosy as ever!
So assuming the water is lacking some kind of mineral or something. I've been reading about Indian almond leaves and their anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. I've bought some to add to his tank - hopefully that'll sort thing out!
I'm trying to hold off giving him a salt bath as the fungus look quite superficial. He's behaving normally and I think getting him out and putting him in a bath of salt will only stress him out. If daily 50% water changes work, there's no need to stress him out!
