Magic light

I feel exhausted and I've only been back at school for 2 days (with kids).

I worked until about 7.45 pm and then Canterbury, Cousteau and I headed down our beach. We had it pretty much to ourselves again.

The light was magic and so I shot the same view as this but with a different feel.

Cousteau is on the mend. His staples seem to be doing the job and he takes his antibiotics like a man.

We're hoping to see the puppies again tomorrow. Thank you for your overwhelming response to my post yesterday. Lencie would be very proud to think of that many people looking at and commenting on her daughter.

Tomorrow is Waitangi Day and so we get a day off. Great.

I came across some poems I wrote when I first came to NZ in 2000. This one's not very original, but I quite liked it and it's good to remind myself every now and then that life's for living.

TAKE TIME

Take time ....
To watch the fish swimming
To feel the sun, warm on your skin
To admire the beauty all around you
To see the dappled light of the evening sun shining through the leaves
To watch the sunset from start to finish
To crunch the autumn leaves
To say "I love you"
To smile at other people
To skip
To smell the fresh coffee
To write that letter you've been meaning to write
To call them
To listen to the waves on the rocks
To hug
To be alone with your thoughts
To dream and act on those dreams
To kiss
To run barefoot on the soft spring grass
To lie in front of the open fire, watching the flames
To gaze at the glow worms
To wonder at the stars
Take time to be you.
