Astrid's christening
Today was Astrid's christening at the beautiful St Katherine's Danish Church in Regent's Park.
It was a lovely day - even though us non-Danish speakers couldn't understand a word of the very long service. Wallis kept looking at me in horror when I occasionally joined in with singing the hymns. Dora, Jørn and Brome are the godparents and I'm sure will fulfil their duties in their inimitable ways. After the service, we beat the rugby crowds back to Twickenham and went back to Mark and Louise's for a delicious chef-prepared meal and a leisurely afternoon of catching up with friends.
Astrid is four and it was nice that she had quite an active role in her christening. She was very excited about it all - and the presents. Not sure what she thought about the minister pouring water onto her lovely blonde hair-do but she smiled her way through the whole day.
