Plum blossom

Until Friday this was the kind of image that was most often evoked when people thought of Japan.
It is still a tad early for cherry blossoms, so these plum blossoms provide us with a candy floss taste of what is to come next .
Sadly this week, it is not the cherry blossoms and the nature, or the temples and shrines, or even the simple modern aesthetic of this place that springs to mind, but rather all manner of ugliness and destruction.
I hope the buds on all the trees around me, symbolize a promise for a brighter future
