Whose side is it on?
When I moved into this house, this lovely camelia was just finishing flowering in my front garden. I found out later that it was actually planted by my next door neighbour - it was a present from their other next door neighbour when they got married. Now, why they chose to plant it in someone else's front garden I shall never understand, but that was the sort of people they were - free and easy with property boundaries. Anyway, this neighbour has now moved out, and I found out yesterday that they had said to the other neighbour (are you keeping up with this?) that they could dig up the camelia and move it into their garden, as it was them who'd originally given the present. Personally, I think it's a bit of a cheek - I wasn't even asked if I minded if they dug it up! Of course, I couldn't really say no - that would be churlish - but I thought I'd have a moan on here instead - get it out of my system. I wouldn't have minded so much if they'd offered to put something else in its place. Oh well, I'll have go and nick someone else's plant instead!
Have bought a new type of mouse trap today - The Big Cheese! It comes pre-loaded with bait, and will snap shut when trodden on. I hope I don't hear it, although I expect Maurice (who I am thinking of renaming as Houdini) has got an escape route planned already!
