Birmingham, gateway to the world

I have actually been in a conference room all day in Birmingham today, but it has felt as though I have been around the world. BMS World Mission held its Council and we were taken to various parts of the world through stories from mission personnel, videos and a telephone link. An overview of the Israel-Palestine situation, a new medical work in Chad and a transformed prison in Peru were amongst the challenging and inspiring stories recounted. .
Well I am staying overnight in Birmingham in the International Mission Centre (the sign in the picture) and it is humbling to think that this is the place where most of the personnel we heard from today have studied.
