the melt

A dominant theme in Calgary at present. The rapid warming means that the snow that's been lying around for months is actually melting rapidly and creating puddles, lakes almost in many neighborhoods. This is the large puddle in my back yard. The snow on the right feeds this small lake and actually covers my garage floor with water which freezes overnight to form a zamboni quality skating surface.

In a week or two I should be able to see my lawn again for the first time since November 16th!
