Favourite things 3 - Jayavarman vii

This is one of my favourite things. I bought this statue when I went to Cambodia last year. It is King Jayavarman 7th (1125-1215) who was king of The Khmer Empire from 1181-1215. He built hospitals temples and rest houses and his aim was to alleviate the suffering of his people. The thing I like most about him is that all the temples he built were half Buddhist and half Hindu. I am always happy when I come in my door and see him sitting there. He also is meant to give good luck in business.
