Shipping containers may not the prettiest things to look at but this one really cheered me up.
They were invented by Malcom McLean in 1956 who was frustrated by increasing road congestion and eventually revolutionised transport and manufacturing throughout the world. Nobody knows exactly how many containers there are today but estimates run as high as 300 million.
