At Home With Jim Tallon

In my quest for a shot to enter in a forthcoming competition, I was racking my brains for a subject when I thought of Mr.Jim Tallon. Now, every town and community has its ecentric gentleman or gentlewoman for that matter. Arklow has them in abundance but none more colourful than Jim Tallon who has declared his rambling old farm property to be the "Independent Republic of Glasnost". While he awaits the revolution which will change forever the political order, he contests just about every town, county and national election as a non party candidate. He has even contested the European Elections and in the recent General Election he garnered 116 first preference votes.
This is he, seated in his sitting room and surrounded by such a plethora of stuff as to put an antique shop to shame. You should see the kitchen or the bathroom or the old utility room in which the ceiling collapsed under the weight of the winter snow and is currently held up with a plank of 8 inch wide lumber. Like I say, every community has one and Jim is ours, so today I give you "At Home With Jim Tallon"
