sites sites sites!!!

good golly the day has come. the day they tell us where it is we´ll actually be spending the next two years of our lives!!!!

so above is a photo of the whole process, in which we were one by one called off and led to our site on a huge map of the country made with rose petals on the soccer field. all sorts of excitement and emotions was had by all.

if you look closely, you´ll see me on the left side of the photo, standing a bit outside of the boarder... because in headed to an island!!! isla costa rica it is called. and to arrive there ill have to travel about 14 hours from quito on bus, then hop on a boat for 40 minutes!!!! so isolated i will be :) my actual projects are pretty broad and include everything from environmental ed and waste management to helping make their shrimping practices less harmful to mangroves and some community tourism... so go go christina!!!

ill be headed out early tomorrow morning on a two day voyage to spend a few days in the site. wish me luck!!!
