Little pain for lots of gain
Was given the iron- on logo today for my S6 charity fast next week. It's a school tradition in aid of charity SCIAF and every 6th year shows they are taking part in the sponsored 24 hour fast by ironing the logo to a t-shirt we can then wear to school the day of the fast.
I'm thinking it's going to be quite difficult, I'm a girl who loves her food. I can't imagine I'll be able to concentrate much in class the day of the fast. I need breakfast!
I hope since I've never taken part before in a 24 hour fast that the experience will be quite humbling. I can't imagine having to face such starvation day in, day out. It's shocking actually.
People my age, with dreams much like my own, while I moan about working at the weekends, are barely moaning about not having any food on the table. That table is bare when they wake up, when they get back from school, before they go to bed. Makes you think really, doesn't it?
Personal guilt trip over. I always want to be grateful for what I have, for what I've achieved and for the opportunities I have had and will continue to have. Not everyone, although they should, has had such an easy time of it.
Wish me luck:-)
