Turned upside down.
22nd of February. A day I will never forget.
School had finished at 12:15pm that day because of a teachers union meeting. However, my bestfriend and I stayed on at school to develop our films we had taken the day before (see previous blip). It was our first time working in the darkroom. Our friend A had us left 10 minutes prior and our films were just in the fixer when an earthquake rocked Christchurch once again. At the start we had power but as the shaking intensified, we lost power and the room was plunged into darkness. I still can't get the sound of me and Hannah screaming, out of my head. As the shaking slowed, we raced for the door and panic surged through us once again when we realised it was jammed. Thankfully with much pulling we managed to get it open but that was the scariest moment of my life. School was in a bad state. Thankfully the principal was still there along with other teachers and teacher aids and they were all calm and helpful!
Thankfully all my family and friends are safe and well and our house only has minor damage!
I never want to go in a darkroom again though.
