Narcissus!
Yesterday I photographed some crocus flowers - the third crocus blip to date. As I wrote the description lines to go with it, I remembered the narcissus. Today I kept reminding myself not to forget to look for them. So I did. Here is the result, selected from a number of bunches, albeit in a completely different spot than I remembered. These are botanic narcissus, which grow untended, wild but small (and pretty, if I may say so...)
Shared with you in confidentiality: I find it quite difficult to find the everyday inspiration for a garden blip these days. Winter (with all these beautiful frost & snow pictures) has gone, but spring is "just" crocus etc. I intended to do a series "hunting for buds" but the photo's turn out to be a rather more scientific project than a photographic project...
Then there's this assignment (in my other life) that takes me across the country. Off at 6 am, back at 7pm. Not a true gardener's life. I almost bought a cottage in the Dordogne, but then logic got the better of me. If I (we, I should say) had indeed bought it, life might have been completely different.
Ah, well, as it is now life smiles at me. Wife (err... girlfriend... that is we never bothered to get married, so we have lived for almost 30 years in sin now) and love, fine kids and a garden that I look forward to photograph in at least 365 blips.
Enjoy it! You keep me going!
