Indian-plum
I think this is the same shrub my cousin Journey Through Time blipped the other day. Also known as osoberry. The berries were eaten in small quantities fresh, cooked or dried by the Straits Salish, Halq'emeylem, Squamish, and several Washington Salish groups. People feasting on Indian-plum were not allowed to drink water. The Saanich made a bark tea as a purgative and tonic.
