Half Hour Holiday

After I took Dad to the lab for bloodwork we stopped at the floral conservatory for an early sniff of springtime. I thought it might whet his appetite for the April holiday his daughters plan to take him on. Instead, after looking at everything attentively and clearly enjoying the smells, he turned to me and said, "Who needs Victoria?"

I'm holding onto the belief that he was teasing. Doesn't matter, his ticket is booked.
