Rube Goldberg Shutter Release II
As I mentioned yesterday, my son's sixth grade class was assigned to construct a Rube Goldberg device that performs a simple task. After much discussion and debate, my wife hit on the brilliant idea of building an elaborate camera shutter release that fires a Canon 20D to create a self-portrait.
Everything worked nearly perfectly except this blade wheel, which missed it's mark half the time and halted the chain reaction. After much wrangling and adjustment with no improvement, we "brought the mountain to Mohammed" and added an extra target marble. Now, the blade wheel hits one or both marbles every time and continues the movement towards the finale.
