What would we do without skilled people? Here is another one...a man who is actually fitting the blinds in our conservatory! Hurrah!! As I have mentioned previously we have had a lot of trouble getting this organised, so we were thrilled when he turned up at the right time on the right day!! Of course they are not proving to be easy to fit so it will take two days instead of one - but we are just pleased it's happening!

I sometimes wonder what will happen in years to come, when so many of our young people have been steered towards a University education? Will there be any skilled people left? They are all invaluable, where would we be without electricians, plumbers, garage mechanics, blind fitters, or, indeed brickmakers?! It would be so good if secondary schools could incorporate more practical skills alongside the academics. I know that some do, but we need a balance.
