The Good Life...and then some.
Today we spent the afternoon with our friends Jean and Luc. They've taken self sufficiency to new heights this month. As a christmas present they got a pig - organic and free range (well sort of pets really) from their son who lives on Raasay. The've cured the meat and now have supply that I'll last for the rest of the year.
They grow their own fruit and vegetables, make their own bread, catch and smoke their own fish and barter for pieces of venison. The collect fungi and dry it and make pickles and preserves. They had hens but they died of old age and the ducks got eaten by the local otter.
