LOST MORNING

I'm getting more and more pathetic. I spent the whole morning taking pictures of this flower. I wanted to get a really fantastic macro, the kind so many other people do. I am ready to admit defeat. This isn't what I had in mind.

I bought it yesterday in one of those Christmas shopping moments. I was at the garden centre to buy an orchid for a bedridden friend's birthday. I did, I bought one but then I saw this. It had tiny droplets of water on it, no doubt from being misted, and I had to have it.

The owner of the garden centre, whose name is Giovanni i Fiori, John the Flowers, to distinguish him from Giovanni il Rosso, John the Red, who was blipped last week, said the name of the flower is ornitogallo.

Now I'm behind in everything. Nothing new there, I suppose.
