Fairmont, St Andrews

Today my friends and I took ourselves off for a girlie weekend in St Andrews. We wound up leaving very early though as the snow was getting ridiculous again - passing numerous accidents on the way through. Thankfully, the snow turned to rain by the time we arrived, although we wouldn't have minded being snowed in there....

First we did a bit of shopping in St Andrews, along with a lovely lunch, before checking into the 5* Fairmont, just outside St Andrews. We had booked a bargain break - luxury rooms for the night (this was one of them), complimentary wine, and a luscious full Scottish breakfast, followed by a 60-minute spa treatment. Great stuff!

We didn't bother eating in the hotel though - we braved rainy St Andrews and went out for a fantastic Italian meal instead. This was swiftly followed by a cab back to the hotel where we changed into our PJs and cosy hotel robes and drank wine and ate sweeties and chatted in one of our rooms until we got too sleepy... :-)
