Notre Dame des Anges
This church is in a village abandoned in 1935. It dates from the 1663 and was built after the wars of religion in this part of France. The habitation itself is called Serre des Huguenots today because the Protestants found refuge there during these wars. Today, the site is accessed by an excellent path which starts between Piegon and Puymeras and arrives somewhere between Puymeras and Merindol. For the most part it follows the high ridge, with stunning views over the old mountain pass which formerly was the sole access to this hidden natural amphitheatre. Another name is Le Cirque des Geants.
