portrait of a squirrel

the trouble with a nice day before the first day of spring, is that there are a plethora of squirrels out and about... playing, running, scampering - trying to nip at my feet... all vying for their 15 minutes of fame with my camera.

so i ended up with way too many shots to go through - some good, some bad, some blurry, some funny, some not... some impressions of spidey squirrel... it was a difficult choice...

but i decided on this one because he's not looking right at me... it's more of a profile - and i liked that... and i liked that he's looking over the water some so it's kind of in the background and i was able to play around with it a bit because of how the sun was hitting it...

as always, i'm not very confident in my efforts. there are a lot of squirrel shots on blip that are very, very good and i didn't want this to look like all of them; but i still long to have it be really good. but i am nothing if not my own self after all and do tend to venture outside the bounds. i think this, then, fits into my usual mo...
