Alexandre

Alexandre runs a stall in the Hippy Market in Ipanema specialising in huge leather bean bags and chairs made in Brazilian hard wood with some exotic leather patchwork sling seats and backs, as shown.    DD and I bought such a chair and such a covering last week, and I was back to buy a matching tripod stool, the seat of which he's holding.     Nothing like a little eclectic exoticism to brighten life up!

For our record, President Obama stayed in the Marriot at the front of Copacabana, only two blocks from us. I got caught in one traffic jam but the rest passed by ok - everyone was talking about it! All very exciting for the people here.
