An Ceann Gael
The sun lingered between horizon and cloudbase this morning casting a crimson fire on the snow slopes of Ben Stack. After five minutes it was back to dull grey. I packed out and drove north towards Tongue. The coast road had me stopping in almost every lay-by to take a picture so that I arrived at the foot of Ben Loyal much later than planned.
Ben Loyal is a magnificently complex mountain, even more so with 50mph winds and cloud scudding between the granite tors on the summit ridge.
On the walk back to the car, I saw many frogs spawning. Spring is sprung!
