University of Sussex
The Sussex University campus (a few miles north of Brighton) was designed by esteemed architect Sir Basil Spence in the 1960s, when we were in the grip of the 'New Brutalist' style of architecture. Actually the buildings do have a certain charm, especially on a lovely spring day with all the daffodils out.
This building was designed to resemble a butterfly, with its wings folded above its body, and this one to look like a candle. Most people see it more a space capsule. Whatever.
I had to go out and buy a new router this morning; the old one packed up suddenly while I was uploading to Flickr last night. Nice to be back on line again.
