It is noted on the Public Monument and Sculpture Association National Recording Project that this drinking fountain bequeathed by 'Leith horticultural, Industrial and Sports Society shows 'writing in marker pen ( some offensive).'

Thats all I could find out about it.
Which seems a shame.
It is in our local park.
I am sure its history is interesting.
