The Dream

When we first saw this disused cow barn we had come from a terraced Victorian house in London. Very nice, but there I looked out on other houses, and only heard noise from life coming through the walls in the morning. When I looked out on this, I decided this was what I wanted to look out on every day and hear the birds singing - nothing else. The fact that it was a derelict disused cow barn was immaterial. So we bought the view, and the house has been built from that. It has taken me totally away from my creative work this year, but - when you see that view, I think you might understand why I would let it for this time. Just for this time.
