Fidra Island

I was supposed to be visiting a friend in the Lake District this weekend but as my car is poorly, I have an unexpected weekend at home. I dropped my car off at the garage this morning (they might get a chance to look at it before Thursday!) and then headed off for a fabulous 2 hour walk. This is Fidra Island. It is thought that Robert Louis Stevenson based the shape of the island in his book 'Treasure Island' on Fidra.

The rest of my day was spent pottering about at home and a relaxing evening in in front of a roaring fire - bliss!
