Regal Pheasant

Spring is in the air. He had 4 females with him at the time this photo was taken. You can always depend upon pheasants to run and hide as apposed to taking flight. Their leg muscles have concentrated red blood cells because they run as apposed to migratory birds which have red blood cells more concentrated in the breast for long distant flight.
I read today that over 400,000 birds(estimated) are killed by wind turbines but the most deadly for birds are cats. Who would have known?
