a speedy unfurling

Last thursday, my son and i planted our sunflower seeds. Giant ones so the packet declares. This very morning, these impatient little bad boys presented their necks to the world. They're not the only ones but they are the furthest ahead.

Top picture was taken just before school and the bottom one around 5pm. I swear if we'd sat in front of them we'd actually SEE them growing. It's just awesome (and i use that word on this occasion with neither an American accent or irony).

What is probably on a par with the awesomeness of these little beauties is the fact that i've managed to photoshop the two pictures together! Must stop high-fiving myself now.
