This is Oli

Oli is my friend, and we have done a lot of traveling together over the past year. In summer, we were in Mexico for 6 weeks. We had only known each other 4 weeks when we made the plans for this trip, so it's a wonder we're still speaking to each other, let alone still traveling together.

Oli is standing on the balcony of our hotel in Athens. In the background is the Acropolis. When we walked up to the acropolis, we were surprised to find that we were two of about maybe 30 people in the whole place. Years ago I went with my family and it was so crowded you could hardly walk up the path. What a difference, and what a way to see Athens.

Oli said it was between depressing and enchanting, which I guess is as good a way of describing it as any.
