Two Men and a Boat
I could get used to that. A wee boat trip at the end of a frantic day is just the tonic to sooth the beleaguered beast so 'n it is.
Thanks again to our blip-guest Riverman for keeping an eye out for a good blip opportunity and for providing the transport. A phone call last night said that the extremely high tides had flooded the nearby Alloa Inch and that the long abandoned farm on there was being gradually reclaimed by the river. He asked if I wanted a short jaunt out to see this five o'clock tonight was when the tide would be at its peak. I was running a bit late but the the island was pretty submerged by the time we got out there (it's the dark strip of land in the left of the picture here) and the old cottage and farm buildings were all looking pretty forlorn as they paddled in the waters. Riverman's very accommodating when it comes to piloting his ship into good positions for shooting and I did rattle of a good number of shots over the Inch, but I couldn't resist this one of the good captain and his deck hand returning to shore after mooring the Three Sisters up for the evening. It just reeks of the river and Spring.
You can see a shot the the old farm (before it's too late and it all sinks into the mud) over here.
Cheers Riverman, for the boat trip and for being a great back up set of blip eyes.
