Benchmark?

There is a school of thought that says almost all lessons should be taught outside, regardless of the weather, particularly for the youngest children.

Somehow, I don't think my 10-11 year-olds would have appreciated taking their spelling lessons around these benches last January, and I have to doubt that their performance would have been enhanced by the experience.

But it is so good to get out into our small garden when we can. We share it only with the birds on the feeders. Lucky us!
