The Angel of the North

Anthony Gormley's iconic steel sculpture entitled "The Angel of the North", is placed next to the Newcastle on Tyne's city bypass. It is massive and very impressive. People's reaction to it varies from loathing to admiration. One thing is for sure, if you drive that part of the A1 you just can't miss it. Well worth a visit whatever you think.
