Without a cause
Back at Bridgefoot looking around the gravestones. This is the back of one. Interesting multicoloured lichen, but it's the inscription that stopped me in my tracks:
"BUT THIS COMETH TO PASS THAT THE WORD MIGHT BE FULFILLED THAT IS WRITTEN IN THEIR LAW, THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE."
JOHN. XV. v. XXV.
There's a load of bitterness beyond grief there.
The inscription on the front:
1868
