SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES

I went upstairs to wash my hair after K had called to cut it (a more funkier version apparently?), but once in the bathroom I saw a huge pall of smoke, even flames, up the hill. I shouted, nay shrieked to G, who was mowing the lawn, and he went up to investigate. By the time I had the binoculars out and was about to do the 999 bit, G returned to say another neighbour had alerted the householder, who had no idea her chimney was ablaze, and the fire brigade were on their way.

We don't usually have so much excitement in the village.

So, from thinking I had a tranquil trees in the early morning mist blip, I now have this. But no one was harmed, and apart from a smokey smelly house, everyone was safe, thank goodness.

Yesterday's blip: having looked at it on my work computer I think it was too dark, too red. It was an amazing sunset, G came to tell me to get my camera quick which says an awful lot, but I think I had the camera on the wrong settings. A learning curve, which is another reason why I so much enjoy this place.
