Small Tortoiseshell butterfly

Yes my first photograph of a butterfly this year! I actually saw my first yesterday but it went past so fast I didn't see what it was so I'm claiming this as my first proper sighting and on my birthday too!

I noticed it land on these planks of wood which are angled alongside our garage so I edged up to it but it was quite far up so I had to actually stand on one of our chairs (which was wobbling) to get this shot. I also didn't have my macro lens on I had the zoom lens so I had to kind of lean back to get it in focus. The lengths one will do to get a butterfly photo lol
