Smart Card for Buses

I was going to my local Railway Station to catch a train when I spotted this billboard. It refers to a propsal made by the bus company which operates most of the buses in Brighton and the surrounding areas to start using a Smart card, similar to he Oyster card used by Transport of London. A major problem is this is a Government backed scheme most of the bus operators are keen on, however there only one supplier of the micro chips needed.
