STAIRCASE TO HEAVEN,
in Duisburg, Germany.
Where we went to the centre of the city between two trains. With astonishing blue sky, spring forever?
For someone not at all interested in how one gets from one place to another by train this is not the right place to read my journal.
In the morning we departed one hour earlier than necessary to avoid eventually train delays in Holland. So in Utrecht we had a good opportunity to drink coffee in the centre. Then deborded the ICE to Duisburg, where there is since the change of train departures we had one and a half hour to stroll into the centre and make some photos. The staircase in the Forum building I find such an interesting feature, so that why it became my blip.
The next train would bring us to Altenbeken, but in Hamm someone pulled probably by accident the safety brake and therefor we missed the correspondance in Altenbeken, to go to Ottbergen. The train Ottbergen-Göttingen departs only once in 2 hours, so....
The information-person was very nice and understanding and helped us out.
Better take the train to Warburg, then change trains to Hofgeismar and from there after half a hour there would depart a bus to Bad Karlshafen.
Wonderful plan and we arrived 10 hours after leaving home and just before nightfall our destination.
But what beautiful scenery had we seen, woodlands, plains, hills, and all in full sunshine. Now post the photo and start commenting to exiting photos of fellow-blippers.
